What the product had to solve
The problem
The constraint shaped the product.
Emergency software has almost no tolerance for confusing interaction. The product needed to make the primary action obvious while still accounting for weak connectivity, permissions and fallback communication.
The system
Built around the critical path.
Kochab reduced the experience to an emergency-first hierarchy: trigger help, identify trusted contacts, preserve location context and design fallbacks before adding secondary features.

System decisions
Why it was built this way
Decisions that carry the product.
- The emergency action remains visually dominant and reachable with one hand.
- Connectivity failure is a first-class state instead of a generic error screen.
- Sensitive capture and location features require explicit product boundaries.
- The prototype separates must-work emergency behavior from optional intelligence layers.
